There’s a tiny little western town built in the Santa Monica mountains at Paramount Ranch. It was built as a filming location, and has accumulated quite a list of things that were filmed onsite. The parking lot puts you right next to the entrance so it’s not much of a hike, but there are trails that lead off in different directions on the backside of the town. I went early in the morning, so there were lot’s of bunnies around and I spotted one coyote. All of the doors are locked or screwed shut so you can’t go inside the buildings but if you peek through the windows you can see the insides. My favorite was the sheriffs building because there was a jail cell inside and a main desk. Outside of the farmers exchange building was an old chair which I sat in while pretending it was a famous chair. I looked up images of the set later on and found that; yes…that chair was on set during filming so my butt has sat on the same chair as some Hollywood people butts. Close enough!
